Once your VPS is provisioned, you will use the Offshore-Servers client area (WHMCS) to manage it. Offshore-Servers integrates the Virtualizor VPS control panel for end-users, which provides a convenient dashboard to control your virtual server. To access it, log in to your client area, navigate to “Services” and select your VPS. You should see options for VPS management (or a button to open the Virtualizor panel). Common management functions available include:
- Start/Stop/Reboot: You can boot up a stopped VPS, shut it down, or reboot it from the panel with one click. If your VPS becomes unresponsive, using the “Force Reboot” or “Shutdown” option in Virtualizor can safely restart it without needing SSH.
- VNC Console Access: The panel provides a web-based noVNC console, which lets you view and interact with your VPS as if you were physically at the server. This is useful for accessing your server if networking is misconfigured or (for Windows VPS) to see the graphical desktop. Simply click the VNC/Console button to launch the console in your browser. You can log in to the text console for Linux or the GUI for Windows. (Tip: If asked for VNC password, use the one provided or reset it via “Change VNC Password” in the panel.)
- Resource Statistics: The Virtualizor dashboard typically shows your VPS’s resource usage – RAM, CPU load, disk space, and bandwidth. You can usually find graphs or numerical usage indicators. This helps you monitor performance at a glance and ensure you’re within your plan’s limits.
- IP Address and Hostname: In the panel, you’ll see your VPS’s public IP address and configured hostname. You may have options to set Reverse DNS (rDNS) for your IP, if needed for mail servers. Setting an rDNS/PTR record can usually be done in the panel’s networking section.
- Root Password Reset: If you forget your root (Linux) or administrator (Windows) password, the panel allows you to reset it. There’s often a “Change Password” function where you enter a new password, and the system applies it to the VPS.
- Reinstall OS: One powerful feature (detailed below) is the ability to reinstall the operating system from scratch. This is done through an “OS Reinstall” or “Rebuild” button. It lets you wipe the VPS and install a fresh OS from a list of templates. Always backup your important data before reinstalling.
All these actions are available in a user-friendly interface, meaning you don’t have to be a command-line expert for basic server management. The integration via WHMCS means you likely won’t need a separate login for Virtualizor – it’s linked to your client account for convenience. If you encounter any “connection error” loading the panel, check if your browser is blocking mixed content or try accessing via the provided direct link. Should you face issues (like the panel not showing your VPS), contact support as it could be a provisioning sync issue.
